  • Typo fixes never leave your Mac.
  • Your writing is never stored or used for training.
  • No account needed for the free features.
  • On-device mode sends nothing at all.

What you write

Spelling and typo fixes run on your Mac and send nothing.

Cloud checks, rewrites, tone and cloud translation send the text they work on: the paragraph you just finished, or the text you selected. It is processed to produce suggestions and then discarded. We do not store it, log it, or use it to train models.

With the on-device model, grammar checks, translation and prediction run entirely on your Mac.

Your account

If you create an account we keep your email address, a hash of your password, and your sign-in sessions (with the IP address and browser or app that signed in). You can use the free features without an account.

Your Macs

Each Mac you sign in on gets a random ID kept in its Keychain. We store that ID, the Mac’s name and when it was last seen, so a one-time purchase can be limited to three Macs. You can remove a Mac from your account page.

Payments

Purchases on our website are handled by Polar, our merchant of record. Purchases in the Mac App Store are handled by Apple. We receive what is needed to unlock your plan (product, period, status), never your card details.

Who processes data for us

Cloudflare hosts the service and runs the AI models for cloud features. Polar processes web payments. Apple processes App Store payments.

Deleting your data

Delete your account from your account page and we remove your email, sessions, Macs and plan records, except what we must keep for tax and accounting.
