NOTION

Grammar checking inside Notion, block by block.

WriteNative underlines mistakes in Notion pages as you write, explains each one in your language, and rewrites or translates a selection without leaving the page.

How it works in Notion

WriteNative is a Mac app that reads the text you are editing through macOS Accessibility. In the Notion desktop app every block is its own field, so the block you are typing in is checked: page titles, paragraphs, lists, to-dos and toggles.

  • Spelling and grammar mistakes are underlined as you write.
  • Click an underline for the fix and the reason, in your language.
  • "Fix all" corrects a whole sentence at once.
  • Clarity and fluency suggestions (Pro) point out wordy or awkward sentences.

Rewrite a paragraph without Notion AI

Select text in a block and press ⌥ twice. Pick Improve, Shorter, Formal, Friendly or Confident, or ask for something else, and replace the selection in place. It works the same in every other app, so you learn one shortcut instead of one AI per app.

Draft in your language, keep the page in English

Teams that write in English often have members who think in another language. Press ⌥ twice with nothing selected, write in your language, and the English is inserted at the cursor. On a team plan, the team's own terms and brand rules are applied too.

Good to know

In Notion, fixes go in when you click them; automatic typo fixes as you type are for native Mac apps such as Notes.

Questions

Does it work in Notion in the browser?
Yes, in Chrome on your Mac. The desktop app is what we test first.
Do I need Notion AI?
No. WriteNative works on any Notion plan; it has its own rewrite and translation.
Is the text of my pages stored?
No. Only the paragraph being checked is sent and nothing is kept. With the On-device plan nothing leaves your Mac.

Write the page once, in good English.

Free to download. Works in Notion as soon as you allow Accessibility.
